The song is supplemented with a visually stunning and trippy music video directed by Kris Merc. “Veneers” was initially released on Tune’s self-titled project Eshu Tune, and the remix takes the song to new heights with the addition of Danny Brown’s famous energy and Paul Wall’s intoxicating chorus. With that being said, Eshu recently released a remix of his self-produced track “Veneers” with some production help from Tkgotthemix featuring the fabulous Danny Brown and Houston hip-hop icon Paul Wall. Known for his stand-up comedy, acting, and varietal writing ventures, Hannibal set out on an expedition into the world of music under the moniker Eshu Tune. Hannibal Buress is a man of many talents, but if you know anything about him, you know that this is an understatement. As the duo ventures out beyond their home base, they seem … The vast desolation of their environments perfectly accentuates the record, keeping the visuals intriguing without taking away from the music at hand. As the music drops, we see Moxie waking up in the naked interior of a neglected trailer before meeting up with his girl on the porch. The film starts with the talent lighting fireworks next to a countrified structure, perfectly setting the tone for the upbeat, electronic song. This one appears to use Jordan Peele’s blockbuster movie NOPE as its muse as it takes viewers on a journey through the bleak sceneries of California’s deserts. With all that being said, moxie is back with his latest Nick Welch-directed music video for his single “flavors”, and it’s nothing short of a visual masterpiece. He just brings so much to the table on all fronts including both sonic creations and visual works of art, but no matter how wild or simplistic a release may be, there’s just no overshadowing the Detroit native’s natural, God-given abilities. I know I write about whiterosemoxie all the time, but I just can’t help myself when every release seems to get better and better. Watch the interview with Drew and me about his album and artistry below. Below is an interview that we shot with us doing a live listening session and reaction to his project ‘Tokens & Collectibles’. I’m really only a fan of a couple of lifestyle rappers and I wanted to dive deeper into exploring the sound so I started off with Drew. The second reason being is that I wanted to challenge myself to listen to something new. I wanted to dive into Drew’s project for two reasons, the first is that being from North Carolina you don’t run into too many rappers in this lane. If you aren’t familiar with this subgenre of rap then think of rappers like Curren$y, Larry June, Jay Worthy, and Primo Rice. I had the pleasure of interviewing Drew Swim, an emcee based out of Charlotte, North Carolina that makes “lifestyle” raps. Mainly because I wanted to switch it up, I also believe some visual content nowadays does better than long written forms of work. I wanted to try something different with this interview and add a visual to this.
